Introducing Carolina HealthWorks: Affordable Health Plans for Chamber Members

Medical, dental, and vision coverage at affordable rates for employers with 2 to 50 employees.

Carolina HealthWorks is a special multiple employer welfare arrangement available to members of the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber.

Employers with 2 to 50 employees who are members of the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber receive access to a Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) health plan with competitive rates, flexibility, and convenience normally reserved for larger businesses. Claims and plan administration are funded through a fixed monthly fee, and risk-based pricing provides potential savings compared to more expensive community-rated options.

We’re excited to share an exciting new opportunity for Lincolnton-Lincoln County chamber members and small businesses across North Carolina. The NC Chamber, in partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, has launched Carolina HealthWorks — a new, more affordable health plan option designed specifically for small businesses, their employees, and their families.

By joining forces with other small businesses, companies in North Carolina with as few as two employees can access large‑group purchasing power for better rates and broader benefits.

Members of the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber with 2 to 50 employees now have access to Carolina HealthWorks.

Sign-Up Process through a Local Agent

If the business meets the eligibility requirements, it can enroll through its own authorized Blue Cross NC agent:

  1. Confirm Chamber Membership: Ensure the business is a current member of your local participating chamber. If not, the business must join one to access the plans.
  2. Contact Your Agent: Reach out to your existing, authorized Blue Cross NC agent or broker. Carolina HealthWorks plans are sold through these appointed agents, allowing businesses to maintain their existing relationship.
  3. Initiate Quote: Work with your agent to initiate a quote for the Carolina HealthWorks plans. The agent will provide details on the plan options (medical, dental, and vision) and help decide which plan works best for the business.
  4. Select and Enroll: Choose the desired plan, and the agent will guide the business through the formal enrollment process with Blue Cross NC.

If the business does not have an agent, it can contact Blue Cross NC directly for assistance or to find a representative or use the chamber’s resources to find a local agent who is a fellow chamber member.
